We are situated in the "Bellbird Area" of Blackburn and within walking distance of Blackburn Lake Sanctuary which is one of the few remaining native bushland parks in Melbourne and is an important environmental asset to Whitehorse, with its abundance of plant and animal life. It is regarded as one of the most important bird refuges in metropolitan Melbourne.

Blackburn Lake also has a long cultural history dating back to 1889 when the lake itself was formed by the damming of Gardiner’s Creek.
